Share a journey for as long as you need
Choose who can follow an active journey, then end sharing when the trip is over. Trip sharing and scheduled journeys are in development.

Plan now. Start sharing when you set off.
Schedule a trip with an expected arrival time and selected trusted people. Scheduling alone does not share your destination or location with them. You explicitly start the journey to begin temporary trip sharing.
Confirm that you arrived
Location signals can suggest that you reached the destination, but you confirm arrival yourself. Arrival, cancellation or revoking access ends the corresponding trip sharing.
If you miss the expected arrival
After the expected arrival and grace period, Lookout prompts you first. If the trip remains overdue, selected eligible contacts can be notified. Extend the trip when plans change. An overdue trip does not automatically activate SOS or dispatch help.
Temporary sharing has limits
Trip updates depend on location permissions, connectivity and battery. They are not a guarantee of continuous tracking. Launch availability and background behaviour are still being validated.
Keep the trip separate from ongoing sharing
- Selected recipients
- Choose eligible people for this journey. Scheduling a trip does not grant them permanent access.
- Battery stays separate
- Trip updates do not include your battery level. Battery sharing needs its own permission.
- No full route history
- Trip sharing does not store the full route you travelled. The private destination is removed when the trip ends.
- Change plans
- Extend the expected arrival or cancel the trip. Confirming arrival or cancelling stops further trip sharing and the pending overdue escalation.
