Who can see my location in Lookout?
Only people you approve can see your shared location. App permission, family membership and sharing with another person are separate choices.
Location permission is not permission for everyone
Lookout uses location with your permission for nearby awareness and sharing you choose to enable. Allowing the app to use location does not automatically share it with a contact. Joining a family does not give its members access on its own.
Sharing can be revoked
Review who has access in the app and remove someone’s access when you no longer want to share. Your shared live location is not published on the community incident map.
Updates have limits
Location updates may stop when a device is offline, cannot obtain a location or runs out of battery. A delayed or missing update does not, by itself, explain what happened to someone.
The website does not collect your location
Joining the waitlist saves your email for product updates. It does not create an app account or enable location sharing. The app’s full privacy policy will be available before launch.
