Ask someone whether they’re okay

When someone is running late, a simple request can help you check in with them. Safety checks are in development for trusted contacts.

Trusted contacts are the people you can ask for a private safety response.

Send a private request

Ask an eligible trusted contact for a safety response. Requests expire, and limits on repeated requests help prevent the feature from becoming a stream of unwanted prompts.

The recipient keeps control

They can respond or mute requests. Sending a request does not reveal their location or create permission to track them.

Room to respond

One active request
Only one request can be active between the same two people at a time. A cooldown limits repeat prompts.
Requests expire
An unanswered request does not stay open indefinitely. Account preferences can also limit these requests.

A response has a specific meaning

A response that someone needs help is not an SOS activation or an emergency-services request. A missing response can have many explanations, including connectivity or someone being unavailable.
