Alerts for the places that matter
You shouldn’t have to keep checking the map. Alert zones are being built to bring relevant published incident information from your chosen places to you.

Choose the place and the coverage
Give a zone a name, set its radius and select the incident categories you want to hear about. A zone follows an area; it does not require sharing your location with other people.
Make each place different
- Categories and radius
- Give home and work different coverage and incident categories. Each zone has its own settings.
- Quiet hours
- Choose when each zone should stay quiet rather than changing every notification at once.
- Pause or remove
- Disable a zone without losing its settings, edit it when plans change, or delete it when you no longer need it.
- Arrival and departure alerts
- Request alerts for an eligible family member at a zone. They must approve that specific zone and the required sharing permissions. Changing the zone requires fresh approval; they can stop the watch.
Relevant alerts depend on published information
Matching uses eligible published incidents and your preferences. Alerts are not a complete incident feed, and delivery depends on permissions and connectivity. Nearby notifications are still in development and have not publicly launched.
