How community reports are reviewed in Lookout

Reports and discussions are moderated before publication. That review does not independently verify every detail of an incident.

Moderated does not mean independently verified

Community information can be incomplete, delayed or change as new details emerge. Treat reports as context for your decisions rather than a complete picture or a guarantee of safety.

Useful updates and discussions

An update or discussion can add context to an incident. Share information responsibly and be clear about what you know. Avoid presenting assumptions as established facts or sharing someone else’s private location.

Public reports and private sharing are separate

An incident on the public map is separate from a person sharing their live location with approved contacts. A private SOS alert is not a public community report.

Before launch

Lookout is in development. This site explains the product and shows app screenshots; it does not host a live incident feed. More detailed reporting guidance will be published as the product develops.
